Hey, residents of Wicker Park Renaissance! Looking for something fun to do? We know where you can find it all: right around the corner from home, in beautiful Wicker Park. Surprised? Nah.
Check it out –
Starting June 7th, the Polish Triangle Marketplace will be in full swing at the intersection of Division/Milwaukee/Ashland. Stop by there every Thursday from 3-7pm. Your very own farmer’s market right here in the neighborhood. This summer you’ll find exotic and domestic tea blends, honey, artisanal cheeses, dried soup mixes, fresh herbs, butter and more. Open through September 27th
Learnapalooza On June 16, 2012, you can get skills – free! Learnapalooza is a day-long neighborhood festival where community members will exchange skills with one another – at no cost. Hosted by local businesses, volunteers will teach classes and offer workshops that cover a variety of topics including yoga, cooking, self defense, swing dancing, candle making, balloon animal creation, poker, and more. Wow!
Are you in the mood for a carnival? Head over to St Stanislaus Kostka School from June 7th through the 10th. St. Stan is located at 1255 N. Noble St. Come join the fun, carnival rides, games, food and entertainment. Oh, and don’t forget the Beer Garden. There’s something for everyone!
The neighborhood will receive a fresh green coat this summer as it plays host to the Green Music Fest, from Saturday June 23rd through Sunday, the 24th. If you’re looking for a musical event that’s more than just notes, stop on by; you’ll find it on Damen Avenue between North and Schiller. This innovative green event will reflect the hip and environmentally-conscious Wicker Park-Bucktown community by fusing original live music with green vendors, services and local retail, art, craft and food vendors. Can’t wait to see what green dancing looks like!
Without a doubt, Wicker Park is definitely the place to be this summer. And we’re right in the middle of it. Why live anywhere else?
