Eating, Arting and Us!

When it comes to the various street festivals that Chicago has to offer, we often find ourselves saying well, if it was only a little closer to me, right?  When it comes to the 2012 Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival, Lyndale Place peeps don’t need to wish for a closer event. It’s only a block away! C’mon, how can you resist?

This rockin’ festival will run on Milwaukee Avenue between Belden and Kimball from July 20th through the 22nd and it will feature all sorts of entertainment. It’s perfect for the whole family – and that’s right up our alley!  Um, our street!

Three stages with live music (Milwaukee/Logan, Milwaukee/Kimball, and Milwaukee/Belden) will showcase some of Chicago’s best up-and-coming musical acts, as well as some old local favorites.  There will be a Curated Art Market of homemade goods, plenty of theater and dance performances, a Magnolia photo booth, gourmet mobile food trucks (OH, YEAH!), beverages of all sorts (I’M THIRSTY) and plenty more.

And there’s even a way to make attending the festival even cheaper.  By going to the official website, you can find out how to pay $10 for the entire weekend instead of the suggested $5 daily donation.  The website will also show Lyndale Place residents the latest additions to the musical line-up. Sweet!

The festival is sponsored by a host of neighborhood businesses.  On Friday, July 20th, the festival will run from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM.  Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd, the hours are from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

It’ll be a great weekend for us to enjoy so close to home. What are you waiting for? Go on, get your discounted tix now!
