Here at mile 10 in Old Town, the wheelchair racers should be arriving at Sedgwick at approximately 7:54 a.m. with the runners following shortly thereafter at 8:18 a.m. We can watch their progress on video screens at the corner of North/Wells.
In years past, we’ve seen neighbors bring hand-made posters, professional banners, t-shirts and noisemakers used to motivate the runners toward to finish line. Why don’t you gather your friends and families and join us? Experience the Marathon Chicago-style, and you help pump up the athletes too!
The city will be closing all streets along the route at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Organizers anticipate that the route through Old Town will re-open at 12:00 p.m. More information is available on the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon website.
Come out and support these hard-working marathoners!
