It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially if you’re a resident at Renaissance Saint Luke. We are so fortunate to have a great staff and outstanding partners who bring lots of good tidings and great cheer in the form of special events and activities throughout the Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s celebration season. Our annual Thanksgiving dinner, hosted by members of Saint Luke Church, was the official kick-off to our holiday season. Pastor David Abrahamson and his terrific team, along with their congregation members, laid out a traditional Thanksgiving feast for our residents, complete with turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and topped off with pumpkin pie! And man, was it scrumptious. That Mauricio sure can cook!
December is loaded with activities, with a myriad of events and activities centered around the season. Our team has been busily decorating and making sure the stockings get hung by the chimney with care. Well, the fireplace, anyway.
The month kicks off with a Tree Trimming Party, which gives our residents the opportunity to decorate the community Christmas tree in our beautiful Club Room. The eight days of Hannukah are commemorated with the traditional candle-lighting each evening. This year, our resident Christmas party takes our guests to merry old England for A Dickens Christmas, complete with a lighted Buckingham Palace out on our terrace. Watch it! It’s being guarded by two seven-feet-tall Beefeaters. Sweet!
If that’s not enough, we’re even celebrating one of our resident literary artists, Donna Jitchotvisut, by creating a holiday window display based upon her novel, Mittens for Christmas! If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by to check it out.
That’s just a few of the delightful treats we have in store for our customers. (We don’t want to spoil all the surprises!) Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or another occasion, the Renaissance Saint Luke team wish you a most wonderful season and a happy and healthy New Year!
