Without leaving the city, residents, staff and guests were transported to a Hawaiian night out. As always, this year’s luau was a huge smash hit. The staff really outdid themselves, and residents came ready to party. We had more people attend than ever before. Everyone was out for a Hawaiian good time.
To get ready for the party residents donned their best Hawaiian shirts and flower leis. The men received dried grass hats, while the ladies had traditional grass skirts and flowers for their hair. Residents posed for a photo shoot in their festive outfits.
The spread included ham and pineapple sliders, sweet and sour Hawaiian meat balls, tropical pork kabobs, fruit skewers, and coconut cake. We even had strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas to get the party started! And then, the highlight of the evening was a visit from dance troop The Barefoot Hawaiian. They hulaed the night away, inviting residents and staff to participate in some very special dance performances.
Future luaus are sure to keep getting better and better. Mark your calendars now for next August. We look forward to seeing you at the next one.
